A Blackburn mum says her kids have neem left ‘traumatised’ by an ill-fitting Grinch costume ordered off the internet.
Angie Dickinson, 43, spent £40 on the festive get-up, which she ordered from Amazon last week. Angie had hoped to wear to Christmas fairs and parties throughout the yuletide season.
But when her children laid eyes on the costume, featuring a Santa’s coat and face mask, her daughter Luvenna, 17, yelled: “Oh my god, mum, get away from it!”

The Grinch – a fictional character created by Dr Seuss and later played by Jim Carry in a film – is a creature who tries to “cancel” Christmas by stealing gifts and decorations. However, Angie said the costume’s “bizarre” alien-like mask was more suited to a slasher movie than a light-hearted Christmas outfit.
She said: “What we thought was coming was this nice Grinch outfit, but what turned up was like something off ‘Scream’.
“The baby was actually playing with the mask and actually loving it. But my 17-year-old said: ‘Oh my god, mum, get away from it. Get away from it, it’s awful’. She didn’t like it at all. She was a bit traumatised. It is a scary mask, and it’s more Halloween than Christmas.
“I think I might get lynched by parents if I walked around with the alien-looking thing on.”
