HIGH POINT — Temple Furniture and Parker Southern are celebrating the company’s 60th anniversary with a new collection of upholstery inspired by a roster of famous faces from the 1960s.

Debuting at High Point Market, the theme for the new pieces is “Fashion Icons of the 60s,” and new products include pieces like the Monroe (Marilyn) swivel chair in black, white and hot pink, and the Onassis (Jackie O) classic sofa in blush and sage.

“Temple started in 1962, so we’re celebrating our 60th anniversary with new pieces inspired by some of the famous names of the era,” said Kim McRee, vice president. “The ‘60s had fabulous, classy and fun fashions, so we wanted to draw inspiration from some of the amazing icons of that era.”

Although some buyers might be quick to attach mid-century styles to a 1960s-inspired collection, McRee said that the new collection is more diverse in design.
