For proof that multiple metals can elegantly coexist, look to Cartier, the French jewelry house. In 1924, Louis Cartier—the grandson of the brand’s founder—designed Cartier’s now-signature Trinity ring, which traditionally intertwines three bands: one each of white, rose and yellow gold.
