Princess Charlene of Monaco was garbed in £655,574 worth of clothing over the last year making her the royal with the most expensive wardrobe, with Kate’s outfits valued at £192,636 and Meghan’s at £94,796 for place three and six respectively.

The retail values of the new clothes 19 princesses were wearing in public in 2022 were calculated by fashion watchdog UFO No More, a website dedicated to naming ‘unidentified fashion objects’.

No other princess came close to Princess Charlene of Monaco’s spending.

Next in line is Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece and Denmark, who spent about a third of Princess Charlene with £201,761.

But its ‘ugly’ sister has also reared its head – and is a huge hit with Gen Z.

Maximalism is back and bolder than ever, with celebrity stylist Miranda Holder telling FEMAIL that many A-listers are embracing the ‘more is more’ ethos on and off the red carpet.

Symptomatic of the move away from lockdown leisurewear, Miranda explained that bright, bold and cluttered looks aim to ‘celebrate the moment’ remembering that life – particularly post-pandemic – is ‘most definitely too short and that literally anything goes’.

The bleached brow trend took off in 2022 but needs to be left behind on New Year’s Eve

Trend followers who have jumped on bleached brows, low-rise denim and fake freckles are among those being put on notice as the year comes to a close.

While all fads come and go, some that were fiercely popular throughout 2022 are destined to remain there, as the world moves on to bigger and better things.

Some of the favourites to leave behind in 2022 have been around for a few years, while others made brief yet impactful appearances throughout the year.

The looks that need to left behind, stat, are as follows.

Bleached brows

First Maisie Williams appeared on the red carpet pulling off the very bold look – then everybody else started doing it.

And while a select few look incredible with bleached brows it isn’t for everyone… far from it.

Most people including Kim Kardashian, fail to pull off the bold 90s era punk look.

But that didn’t appear to stop people from trying and in 2022 it appeared most women with a connection to Hollywood jumped on the startling trend.

One eagle-eyed viewer has spotted a mistake in Jim Carrey’s 2000 Christmas movie How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

Posting about her observation to TikTok, @redcobweb highlights how in one scene Carrey is missing his yellow contact lenses and appears with his natural brown eyes opened wide.

She explains in the video, as the movie plays in front of her: ‘So every time I watch the Grinch I notice this one little mistake they made where they forget either to put his contacts in or they forgot to edit them in afterwards and so just Jim Carrey’s brown eyes… they’re just there.’

A mum denied permanent residency by New Zealand officials for being too overweight has been allowed to stay as she unveils her plans to launch a new career inspired by her ongoing weight loss journey.

Mondelea Bezuidenhout, from Palmerston North in New Zealand, made headlines around the world after her application for permanent residency was rejected because her ‘too high’ body mass index made her too much of a health risk.

The South African native said she was ordered by officials to lose 30kg or face being kicked out of the adopted country she’s called home for the past four years.

Ms Bezuidenhout, 36, appealed the decision and was granted a special exemption to stay a year ago after she dropped her BMI by 10 points and obtained a referral from her GP stating she was in good health.
