Fashion trends come and go quickly, you can be ‘in’ one day and ‘out’ the next. However there are some fashion trends that have turned into fashion staples; one of which is the velour tracksuit.
They were once deemed to be the uniform of a ‘chav’ but then people realised how comfortable they are whilst still managing to look smart when teemed with the right accessories and shoes. Famous designers started creating velour tracksuits in every colour, juicy couture being the most notable. However few people can reasonably afford a designer tracksuit and the market-stall alternatives were simply too poor quality and unflattering, fitting with the chavvy stereotype.
Now however there are clothes retailers designing high quality tracksuits at a fraction of the cost of designer labels.
Adults tend to suit darker colours better. Black, navy and brown are popular winter choices which can easily fit into your hectic life without losing their shape when they are washed. When ladies wear the brightly coloured pinks and greens, it can sometimes look as though they are trying too hard to be ‘down with the kids’.
Because the truth is that children look the best in velour tracksuits. Little girls can get away with a blue or pink velour tracksuit easily as it is playful and fun. For mums and dads they are an ideal outfit for their daughters to have in their wardrobe for many reasons.
Firstly, the two pieces mean that they can be worn together or as separates, so one outfit can suddenly become three or four. This saves time when adults have to think about what to dress their children in and saves money as they have more options with just the one jumper and one pair of trousers.
Secondly, if you can find a great retailer of children’s pink velour tracksuits and other colours then the material will be of a high quality. You will be able to wash out the grass, food and paint stains easily without having to worry about the integrity of the shape or the material wearing away.
And thirdly, children love wearing velour tracksuits because they are so easy to wear. After popular family activities like swimming and sport, the velour is easy to pull up and down over their head. The flexibility offered by the stretchy materials also means that the children can climb trees, jump around and generally act like monkeys without feeling restricted.
If these reasons are not good enough for you to get your daughter a purple, grey or pink velour tracksuit I don’t know what is.
