Malibu Chili Cook-Off: The event includes the cook-off (meat or vegan options), carnival rides and games and a skateboard contest, Sept. 2-5. Hours: 4-10 p.m. Sept. 2; 1-10 p.m. Sept. 3-4; 1-8 p.m. Sept. 5. Admission to the event $15 or $20 on the day you attend (admission is by online purchase only; no admission sold at the door; no box office at the event). Carnival rides are a separate price; pre-sale $45 and up (details: bit.ly/3Px3Op8). Chili prices depend upon the vendor; most are $2 for a taste, and up to $14 for a bowl.
